Dear members,
Many of you are questioning why VPL has not yet decided on closures. This is a decision of management – it will be made in concert with the city and provincial health authorities. As we see other systems across the country closing, we are asking the employer to keep us informed of discussions and the rationale behind decisions. We have also asked management if further consideration has been given to the question of cancelling programs.
We will continue conversations regarding working from home options and advocating for compensation for auxiliary workers who do not have shifts booked.
We understand you are concerned. Please speak with your supervisor if you are not able to be at work. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
