How our members can help

The hardship committee would like to thank members and the public for their donations to the CUPE 391 food bank. To access food, members can contact any member of the hardship committee or email us at hardship@cupe391.ca.

As we do not know how long the strike will be running, we would like to encourage the donation of cash or grocery cards from a variety of stores, preferably those that are labour and eco-friendly. Please contact your picket captain or a member of the hardship committee to donate grocery cards, cheques and cash. Cheques can be made out to CUPE 391 with a memo that it is for the hardship committee. The union is unable to provide tax receipts for donations.

The hardship committee is currently working on application forms for hardship loans for members in extreme need. Please keep checking the blog for more information throughout the week. Members can also refer to information posted on the Bargaining Resources page regarding financial advice during job action.

Members can also make use of the template hardship letter to creditors.
