Welcome to day two of our limited job action. We are happy to report that both of today’s study sessions were very successful. Thank you for your great questions and your strong support.
At our 9:30 am meeting at Mount Pleasant, we were joined by CUPE National President Paul Moist and CUPE BC President Barry O’Neil. Paul and Barry spoke very passionately about pay equity in libraries and brought messages of support from CUPE locals in BC and across the country.
Tonight at 5:30 p.m. we will be giving our presentation on pay equity to the Library Board. We hope that our presentation will help our Employer understand why pay equity in Vancouver libraries is long overdue and encourage the Library Management Team to return the bargaining table and negotiate at fair settlement.
The next few days will be crucial for our local. It is vital that you continue to check the blog regularly for updates. If you do not have a computer, you should anticipate a call from your union contact.
Important: Please also remember to take all your important personal belongings with you whenever you leave your worksite.
Important: Remember to read our “Financial Hardship” sheet, accessible though our Bargaining resources page. (See right).
Thank you again for all your support,
Cupe 391 Bargaining Committee
