Hi all!
Tomorrow our presence will be felt all over the city as we extend our job action to every branch except Riley Park and Carnegie. We seem to be getting stronger and stronger! Make sure you bring sunscreen as is it supposed to be sunny and warm. Kinda like us!
Our great team of “knitters for solidarity” got a donation of yarn from a helpful bottle collector today. Thank you to this person, who joins a group of generous yet humble donors. There will be many warm heads this winter!
Our Quarters from Heaven came to an astonishing $97. It will be the first deposit into the Cupe 391 hardship fund.
The movie festival continues with another fabulous work by D’arcy entitled “Auxiliaries: The Gentle Sherpas of the Public Library”. You can catch it on YouTube or click on the following link http://youtube.com/watch?v=469Wm8sy4SA .
Last week, Laura from the bargaining committee made a compelling and meaningful presentation to the Library Board on pay equity. It will be posted in full on our bargaining resources page tomorrow. We will also be posting the highlights on the blog. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
Tonight the bargaining committee is resting up for what we hope is a fruitful meeting with our employer tomorrow. As we settle down to sleep we’ll be hearing the mantra of “…pay equity, part-time and auxiliary rights, job security, improvements to benefits….” We are positive and determined and, of course, always ready to bargain.
Fortified by your support,
The bargaining committee
