Last year, The Stephen Lewis Foundation launched its first “Dare to Remember” fundraising campaign, inviting thousands of Canadians to take on “dares” and collect donations in support of its community-based HIV/AIDS-related initiatives in Africa. CUPE 391 Library Workersparticipated memorably, raising over $4000 by “Daring to Be Cool and Wild, Hot and Sexy (or Just Goofy and Silly).”
The Foundation’s 2010 “Dare to Remember” campaign was launched in October and will run until World AIDS Day (December 1st). For this year’s campaign, I have decided to “Dare to Make Muffins.” A lot of muffins – 100 to be exact – and of all kinds, from healthy to decadent. I plan to share the muffins with staff on World AIDS Day together with displays, pictures and information on HIV/AIDS in Africa. The muffin event will take place in the staff lounge at the Central Library, between 10:00 and 2:00 p.m. on December 1st.
I have set a fundraising goal of $4000. Whether or not you will be able to attend the muffin event at the Central Library on World AIDS Day, I hope you will consider supporting my muffin-making efforts in support of The Stephen Lewis Foundation’s extraordinary work in Africa. To contribute anytime, please visit my Dare to Make Muffins fundraising page on The Stephen Lewis Foundation website, where you can make a simple, fast, totally secure online donation. Alternatively, you can download this donor form, complete and send it through the internal mail to Janet Tomkins, Selections Team – Level 6, Central Library.
Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $20.00 or more.
Many thanks!
Janet Tomkins
