From VanCity Buzz:
Despite the dreary summer, Vancouver is about to get a helluva a lot more colourful as pride festivities roll into town the next few days. Each year, Vancouver’s Pride Parade gets larger and draws bigger crowds. Last year over 640,000 people lined the streets for Western Canada’s largest celebration of the LGBTTQ community and this year 700,000 are expected to attend. To put things into perspective that’s twice as many people that watched Santa march down Georgia Street during Christmas!
As Vancouver Pride celebrates its 33rd year, expect more fabulous floats, more elaborate costumes and an even greater number of people filling the streets of Vancouver with Pride.
