March 29 Morning Message

Good morning 391 family members,

Here on the west side of Van, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. I’m hoping you are all finding time and emotional space in your day to notice the good small things. As usual, this reminder is as much for myself as it is for you… I do truly understand that words such as these can land like an empty platitude when we are struggling. Please reach out to the supports that are available to you. Vancouver members, EFAP is a resource that may be of assistance in this time.

I have no particular update to share this morning. We are working on a number of initiatives and documents and we will have more information in the coming week. Today I would like to say thank you to the 171 members who joined in Friday and Saturday to the webinars. Also, an extra thank you to those who reached out with words of encouragement and support, and offers of help, after the sessions. It is an emotional time, and I’m not ashamed to share that with you. It fuels the work we do and reminds those who make decisions that humanity must remain intact during times of crisis and emergency. I am grateful to feel so supported in this time; and I know the Executive and Committee members feel the same.

Please continue to send your questions and concerns to info@cupe391.ca – if you do not receive an individual response it is merely a function of capacity. Stay engaged with our website, watch for updates, and reach out to those who may not be following our activities as closely.

In solidarity,
Kari
