Today we had a great turnout at the branches this morning. Here’s to the folks at Joe Fortes, Kerrisdale, Britannia, Mount Pleasant, Firehall, Kitsilano, Collingwood, and Dunbar. The rest of the afternoon everyone gathered at Central.
The schedule on the long weekend remains as is for now.
Saturday, August 4th
Central will have pickets from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Joe Fortes, Kerrisdale, Britannia will have pickets from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Sunday, August 5th
Central will have pickets from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM
Monday, August 6th
Central will have pickets from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM
If you are scheduled to picket at one of the branches on Saturday, do not linger at the site if you are the only one there. Head straight down to the Central branch.
Any informal picket plans for Monday are presently on hold. Please continue to watch the blog for updates.
In the meantime we ask that all picketers adhere to the following guidelines.
3 Picketing Practices.
1) Always picket with a partner. Arrange to arrive together, leave together. (get a buddy to go to your car or bus with you)
2) Be aware of your surroundings (people, cars, how many picketers are nearby)
3) Make sure your picketing time is well balanced. Take periodic rest breaks whether you feel like it or not!
