It is very important that you, the membership – the Union, come to the General Meeting tomorrow evening,
November 30th at 6.00 p.m. in the Morris J. Wosk Board Room
This year the previously projected cuts to budget have been shrinking as we headed towards the proposed 2011 operating budget which was published on theCity of Vancouver’s website on the evening of November 24th. SeeAdministrative Report dated November 15, 2010
There has been a 23% increase in revenues to the City, recommended increased costs associated with doing business with the City, proposed 2% increase in taxes; all which would garner a further 11.4 million towards balancing the budget.
P. 16, 31 and 32 of the above RR-1 Administrative Report give the gist of the cuts to the library. Some of these cuts have, however, either been accounted for in earlier ‘adjustments” or by other funding resources within the City or the Library.
See your CUPE 391 e-mail for the rest of the message and report. If you have trouble opening your CUPE 391 e-mail, please e-mail accounts@cupe391.ca.
