Dear CUPE City, Parks and Library members,
CUPE Locals 15, 391 and 1004 continue to work in this exceptional time to minimize the impact to members as the City grapples with financial challenges caused by the pandemic.
The City and CUPE Locals are focused on working together to consider all ways to prevent further job losses and return laid off workers soon.
The situation is an ongoing discussion and CUPE locals agree that a modified bargaining process is the way forward for dealing with outstanding issues for members.
We are hoping discussion on these important matters can continue soon and that we can achieve as much certainty as possible for all employees.
To advocate for our members we have presented our united position to the City Manager and Chief Librarian in a letter from our three locals (click here to view letter).
In Solidarity,
Warren Williams, President, CUPE 15
Kari Scott-Whyte, President, CUPE 391
Andrew Ledger, President, CUPE 1004
