Three reasons to be thankful

1. Friday is cheque day.  You can pick them up at Central between 10am and 2pm, or at the Union Office between 3pm-4:30pm.

2. The Bargaining Committee will be visiting all picket lines Friday to talk about what everyone’s already talking about.  Watch the blog for further updates from the committee and details for the weekend.

3. Instead of the aforementioned chicken wings, our “Thanksgiving Dinner 391-Style” will include actual turkey!  That’s turkey burgers, naturally, along with the previously announced veggie samosas.  The “trimmings” will be pot-luck, so please bring something you like, with enough to share. Juice and possibly some pumpkin-pie-like goodies will be provided.  Mealtime is approximately noon-2pm.

Also tomorrow, award-winning journalist and author Naomi Klein will be paying a visit to the picket line at Central, to lend her support.  She is in Vancouver as part of the world tour for her new book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.

And for some insightful viewing:  Citizen Sam, the 90-minute documentary on Sam Sullivan’s race to become mayor, will be shown on CBC Newsworld (Cable 26 in Vancouver) on Sunday Oct. 7 at 7 p.m., repeating at 10 p.m.
