The Vancouver Public Library has been named the recipient of HUB’s 2013 Bike Friendly Business Award in the workplace category.

The HUB Bike Friendly Business Awards are awarded to organizations that have taken concrete steps towards encouraging cycling in the workplace; investing in end-of-trip cycling facilities; and cultivating bike-friendly business practices

HUB (formerly the Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition) is a charitable organization, originally established in 1998 as a non-profit to address cycling issues in Metro Vancouver.

Special kudos go out to union members who comprise the Pedal Pushers Committee who spearhead advocacy efforts surrounding involvement in cycling for the betterment of personal health and the environment.
