We are very grateful that you have given us a chance to try to address your concerns with the mediator’s recommendations and ensure a more equitable resolution for all our members.
We have scheduled a meeting with our Employer on Friday, October 12 at 9 a.m. We hope that this meeting will allow us to work with the Library to resolve our issues and finally find a resolution that you be able to accept.
This afternoon, Vancouver City Council voted to accept mediator’s Brian Foley’s non-binding recommendations for a new contractual agreement with the City’s workers. Council also voted to approve the funding recommended for library workers, should the Vancouver Library Board also accept the mediator’s recommendations during its vote later this afternoon. We see this as positive move towards finding an equitable deal.
