This is the most important meeting for our membership to attend this year.  We will be discussing the impact of the municipal elections: how public service will be affected; how we, as a union, can promote democratic working conditions with our employer.

Our employer is the Vancouver Public Library Board.  Who appoints the trustees to the board will depend on who is on council.

Please participate in this meeting and take an active part in determining our future as public servants and as builders of strong communities.

The “silly season” is here with a vengeance.

  • October 14th we have a the federal election.  I voted Friday night as I will be put of the country on holidays from October 11 to 22.
  • October 29th – two by-elections: Vancouver Fairview and Vancouver Burrard.  Jenn McGinn is the NDP candidate for Vancouver Fairview, replacing Gregor Robertson.  She is an account manager and former vice-President of Little Mountain Neighbourhood House and past Executive Director of the South Granville Seniors Centre.  Jenn McGinn Saturday, Novermber 15 – the Municipal Election COPE
